and...What's in a NAME?

HE went to the old house built out of Cypress on the Waterfront  where he had worked at a couple of decades earlier.. a big section  of  roof had blown off over three years earlier in a Category 5 storm and had a big blue tarp strung up over the opening.

He banged on the door.. and the wife  of the now deceased man that owned the place opened the door... she looked much younger... for a second or two he was not sure it was her... but after speaking a few words together he realized it was...  and she went on about her plastic surgery reached down and grabbed her red sweater and pulled it up over her head and said .. ....  and How do you like  'These'  she said as they were exposed giving them a shake.

A name a name a name?  quickly now.......... he thought...

He reverted........

Different dreams

Different life times.... he thought.

A name... lets just say it was   a    'Wise  Call'

He went on to explain to her  why he thought so highly of her past husband.. even if he was just a trained gentleman....... he had questioned this... Why was it the house had not been repaired? she went on to say they were in a battle with the insurance company... and that  they were claiming  a Category 5 storm  was not an act of GOD... he belly laughed.

The treating of or with dignity..... well that was what he had ever seen...  from Him.. the MAN her husband but   of course he  himself was just  the guy that just trimmed the co co nut trees and raked the beach prior to their arrival.. in the private jet down in Key West .. so he offered up... 'What would  I  know?' and laughed.

Her old man.. dressed in an Armani suit gold cuff links..  and holding  a glass of scotch..  and dealing earlier in the week with Heads of State, would ever know how much it meant ... his simple questioning....   'How is the family etc...' what have you been doing?.. any flying? etc...

and as he went on to explain to her the time her husband  got the whole neighbor hood together for a tree trimming on a bid... and how it was when he had realized the had underbid and went on to explain the shortage  to her Husband  how he had made no fuss of throwing in an additional 300.00 that was the difference between showing a profit to put food on his table for his 3 kids... or not...

The little things that count ...  or maybe not.

and how it was he had become disturbed with her.. over her behavior towards him towards  the end of his life.

and how there was the time he ordered his pilots to show him around the Tri Jet.. simply because they had a  chance crossing or encounter at EYW

as he was delivering newspapers to distribution points..  around  the Island...

IT was the treating with dignity...... thing he guessed...

In the conversation with his now widowed wife.... he wanted to convey to her  how highly he thought of her past husband.

Life Flashes before our own eyes.....

SLOWER PLEASE.

Our own excuses for jumping hurdles or not.

and What is in a NAME?
