 Like a tightly wound watch:
It was rather an expansive grounds........  Worn... Pool, Yard, Tiki Bar old rooms no telling how may people had screwed in them over the years....... the bar tender who was also the father of two near infants on the property .... was winding his watch behind the bar talking to a  booze salesman.... the watch  had no straps and kind of a flower shaped bezel .... and was the color  of light purple..........  he wound and wound and wound until the spring was tight..........

The old man had come to help keep an eye....  he went out by  the pool... it had issues....  the skimmer basket was full of leaves for starters... and lots of other crap was wrong with it.... he could smell the water was out of balance... maybe he could make a deal to take care of it too?.... you know to  be helpful, useful...  to his almost chagrin. ....There were a couple of low to the ground chairs set along the  side of  the building next to the pool... aluminum with that stretchy blue and white vinyl wrap  sitting in the wet muck......he sat down and realized  a he had placed his feet  under a spiders web... were those black widows... he saw there?  Better keep your feet low..........

Maybe they would eat the mosquito's and gnats ........... that were buzzing around....

Someone came around and asked him if he wanted a drink... another customer....  being friendly...   'Bring me a hammerhead'  please....... ' one of those?'   the congenial  asking man remarked....  'that is a small drink.'..

NO   John said... 'that is not a small drink it  is a piece of Heavy Equipment'

I guess so  ...  his host  murmured ........ and walked off towards the well used bar... away from

The old man... that

postulated ....  under his breath..... What a joke........

'We are all somebody wanting to get out'... he had reasoned away with himself....... long ago....

Maybe the girl next door was deaf.... not unkind.... she just did not hear you.... when you were trying to joke with her.......

So........ don't jump to conclusions....... old fool.

Now there is a laugh..........  he thought back to the winding of the watch with no strap and the floral shaped bezel...  man that spring was taunt......

On the Bright side...




As long as they  the masses did not know him.... they kept their mouths shut.


He had a counter....  Two whole readers... he reflected.....  why he would go celebrate  by taking a shit...

and go brush the scummy  feeling off of his teeth.... and feel sorry for himself....

Then he would feel better........
